    A Spaniard from Tarragona, Jose Gener, created the Hoyo de Monterrey brand in 1865. The brand today represents light flavoured cigars as a regular production portfolio. In 1970s Le Hoyo Series was added, with a bit more intense flavours, however still recognised as a light strength line.
