    Cohiba as a brand was created in 1966 by personal request from Fidel Castro. The Cohiba brand is synonymous with the world famous El Laguito factory and at the beginning was only available to important people of interest and heads of states as diplomatic gifts. It was introduced to the general market in 1982 with 3 iconic vitolas and has developed through the decades to comprise of 4 ranges of cigars from the medium bodied Linea 1492 (the ‘Siglo’ range), through the medium to full Linea Clasica and Maduro 5, to finish with famous Behike line. The Behike is only range to use the rare Medio Tiempo leaf which brings extra strength to the cigar, therefore all Behike range is classified as a full flavoured.
    Cohiba was the word which Taino Indians used to describe the bunches of tobacco which Columbus saw them smoking when he arrived on the island. A truly refined, luxurious smoke.
